POUR YOUR SPIRIT OUT
I will never forget the night that we wrote Pour Your Spirit Out. In fact I often wish to be back in that room, on that night, because the Presence of God was with us in a way I don’t think any of us had ever experienced before. We were on a writing trip, gathered in a basement of a rental house - not meaning to write a song at all. But Jace started playing guitar and suddenly we had written this song in what felt like no time at all. The way the words poured out of us felt like they were just flowing from Heaven in such a powerful way. We wrote section after section - most of which will never see the light of day - and honestly just got caught up in worship. I thought the song was finished when all of the sudden Corbin came up with this last verse about his testimony of miraculous healing. I think at that point we all realized this song had something different on it. It’s hard to wrap my head around all we’ve seen God do as we’ve gotten to carry this song. We’ve seen people healed - like really - in an instant healed of injuries and diseases. We’ve seen people receive salvation on the spot in settings where we didn’t expect it, and we know it’s only the beginning. Our prayer through this song and this album is that eyes would be opened to the miracle-working power of Jesus, to the breadth of the faithfulness and love of God, but maybe even moreso, that people would be inspired to pray with faith and expectation for their own lives and circumstances, and to experience the fulfillment of Jesus’ words in Matthew 7:7.

knock and the door will be opened to you.”
